Seeing the anatomy is so important, if you can’t be in the operating theatre or the anatomy lab, then models, especially skeletal, are excellent tools to enhance your perceptual understanding.
Seeing the 3D structure, feeling the contours, locating those origin and insertion points can be so beneficial in truly comprehending complex three-dimensional anatomy!
A good skeleton can be a little expensive, but for anyone serious about orthopaedic surgery it is worth its weight in gold!

Ps. If you’re ever attending an AO trauma course, ask to take home the practical session specimens, they are so realistic and great to learn from.
